Dave Hockey is our school Chaplain.
School chaplaincy is well defined and regulated by Education Qld and Dave works closely with and alongside the other support services in the school.
A core function of a school chaplain is providing social, emotional, and general wellbeing support to students, and also staff. Further support is available to those who are exploring their own spiritual beliefs. All SU Chaplaincy staff and volunteers personally model their own faith positions, and at all times are respectful and sensitive towards those who hold other beliefs. School chaplains are not counsellors, but do provide pastoral care for students, with parental permission.
The chaplain's space is located in the ACCESS Hub in U block. If there is something you want to talk about, appointments can be made during class time or just go find him during break.
