Dave Hockey is our school Chaplain.
School chaplaincy is well defined and regulated by Education Qld and Dave works closely with and alongside the other support services in the school.
A core function of a school chaplain is supporting students who are exploring their spiritual beliefs. All SU QLD staff and volunteers personally model their own faith positions, whilst at all times showing respect and sensitivity towards those who hold other beliefs. School chaplains are not counsellors, but do provide pastoral care for students, with parental permission.
The chaplain’s room is located in Q block. If there is something you want to talk about, appointments can be made during class time or just go find him during break.
