Albany Creek State High School is an Independent Public School located 15 kilometres north of Brisbane. The school receives most of its students from the Albany Creek, Albany Hills and Eatons Hill primary schools and has a current enrolment of approx 1600 students. Albany Creek State High School has an enrolment management plan which limits enrolments to within the school's catchment area or students who have gained successful entry into one of the Excellence Programs; Football (soccer), Media Arts, Dance, Visual Arts and Instrumental Music.
Albany Creek State High School has a reputation for providing a superior learning experience for students from Year 7 to 12. Parents choose this school because of its family orientation, the strong community feel, the emphasis on the curriculum and high standards for students.

The school offers extension programs in English, Mathematics and Science to extend students wishing to enrich their learning from Year 8 onwards and students are given the opportunity to enrol and study at the University of Queensland whilst in Year 12.
