Albany Creek State High School is an Independent Public School with a strong tradition of student success across academic, cultural and sporting pursuits. We aim to foster a culture of belonging and connection where every young person is challenged to achieve their personal best within a supportive and inclusive school community.
Albany Creek State High School's Strategic Plan 2025 – 2028, Inclusive Culture, Connected Community, Outstanding Futures prioritises the development of positive and productive relationships and is focused on delivering responsive teaching and learning, strengthened identity and belonging, enhanced engagement and wellbeing, and the conditions where students, staff and community members can achieve their personal best.
We deliver a comprehensive range of high-quality subjects where students develop their passions and interests. From Year 7, Excellence Programs in Football (soccer), Media Arts, Dance, Visual Arts and Instrumental Music feature alongside highly regarded enrichment and extension programs for students looking for their next academic challenge. Our teachers in partnership with our specialist Learning Connections and ACCESS Teams provide additional support so that all students experience growth and success. In Years 10 -12, students are empowered to make decisions for their preferred future, choosing from over 30 academic offerings such as Literature, Psychology, Specialist Mathematics as well as a broad selection of industry-aligned vocational education and training courses.
We are proud that our students are able to achieve their potential and we understand that a positive sense of belonging shapes a young person's cognitive, behavioural and emotional engagement with school. Albany Creek State High School actively promotes the benefits of our students being involved in the broader aspects of school life. From Student Representative Council, AC Racing, drama club and instrumental music through to inter-house and inter-school sporting teams and competitions, there is a club, team or activity to meet the needs of every young person.
Located 15 kilometres north of Brisbane and with an enrolment of 1600 students, we are a school of choice for families and the majority of our students reside in the surrounding suburbs. The school's enrolment management plan places limitations on the number of enrolments that can be accepted from outside of the school's catchment area.
