The library of Albany Creek State High School serves as the central 'heart' of our school and plays a vital role in the cultural identity of our students. We provide a welcoming and flexible environment in which students can develop the skills they need to become independent lifelong learners.

In supporting the school community's goal of delivering a world-class learning environment, the library endeavours to provide a range of services to support teaching and learning within the school, as well as enabling access to the tools and information required to satisfy the learning needs of our students and staff.

Click here External link to access the library home page to access all of these resources.

The collection contains extensive print and digital resources, including:

  • Regularly updated fiction and non-fiction books to encourage and promote reading for learning and leisure
  • A current selection of media publications including periodicals to cater to curriculum needs and personal interest areas
  • Reference and teacher reference materials to support teaching and learning

Access to these resources is provided through a fully-automated library management system encompassing the library catalogue (Oliver).

Our library contains a number of flexible learning spaces and facilities which provide access to all library resources including computers, phone conferencing equipment and two high quality colour printers/photocopiers/scanners, as well as provision of wireless internet.

The dedicated library staff offer assistance to the school community in a number of areas, including the selection and processing of a wide range of resources; instruction in the location and use of such resources; development of information literacy skills; and, assistance with the selection of reading materials. Students may borrow resources for a two-week period.
