Our Interact club at Albany Creek State High School is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Albany Creek. The purpose of Interact is to provide opportunity for young people to work together in a world fellowship dedicated to service and international understanding. The goals of Interact are to:
- recognise and develop constructive leadership and personal integrity
- encourage and practice thoughtfulness of and helpfulness to others.
- create an awareness of the importance of home and family
- build respect for the rights of others based on recognition of the worth of each individual
- emphasise acceptance of individual responsibility as the basis of personal success, community improvement and group achievement
- develop life skills including self-development, time management and personal finances
- recognise the dignity and value of all useful occupations as opportunities to serve society
- provide opportunities for gaining increased knowledge and understanding of community, national and world affairs
- open avenues of personal and group action leading to the advancement of international understanding and goodwill toward all people.
Each year our club is involved in community, national and international projects of support and aid. These projects are conducted with the assistance of staff and the mentoring of the Albany Creek Rotary Club members.
Our club meets three times per term. If you are interested please listen out to daily notices for times and location and come along and join us.
