Women’s Shelter Drive

For the duration of Term 2, Monday 23 April till Monday, 25 June, Interact ran the Women Shelter Drive for the second year. The donations made have now been sent to a local women shelter, supporting women and their children who have been forced out of their homes due to abusive relationships leaving with often, nothing more than the clothes that they are wearing.

It is estimated that there was over $4 018 worth of donations. These generous donations ranged from toothbrushes, toothpastes, sanitary items, soaps, cleansers, hand creams, makeup, face masks, makeup remover wipes, toiletries and hand cream gift sets, handmade blankets, quilts and even a sheet set perfect for winter, toys, books, underwear, socks, shirts, pyjamas, mini sewing kits, handbags and even heat bags.

The overwhelming response to this donation truly does depict the strong school community spirit that Albany Creek State High School is known for. Thank you to everyone who donated to the Women Shelter Drive. Each and every donation, big or small was greatly appreciated.
